PUMA
From a standing position, pumas can leap 18 feet vertically, 45 feet horizontally, 60 feet leaping down from a higher elevation, and can run 45 mph for short distances.
Pumas range through most of North, Central, and South America. In the western United States, approximately 30,000 pumas roam.
On January 22, 2018, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service officially declared the eastern cougar subspecies extinct in the U.S.A.
